The Information Technology Industry Council sent a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth expressing concern over his imposition of a supply chain risk designation.

The US has officially deemed artificial intelligence (AI) firm Anthropic a supply chain risk — the first time the government has given that label to a US firm.

Anthropic has said it will sue the Defense Department over the designation, which could prevent the start-up from doing business with the U.S. government.
